Bakuchiol | Psoralea corylifolia
Derived from the seeds of the medicinal plant Psoralea corylifolia, this extract is widely recognized as a powerful plant-based alternative to retinol. Studies have shown comparable, and in some cases superior, efficacy, while offering a gentler profile that helps minimize common retinol-related discomforts such as irritation, redness, dryness or flaking.
Its multi-targeted activity helps support the skin’s natural renewal processes. It contributes to collagen production (types I, III and IV), supports the skin’s natural hyaluronic acid levels and helps reinforce the dermal and dermal–epidermal junction. As a result, the skin appears smoother, firmer, more elastic and more radiant.
Bakuchiol is also valued for its soothing and antioxidant properties, helping protect the skin from oxidative stress and lipo-peroxidation.
